The Museum Players
The Museum Players are The Bradford Police Museum’s dedicated volunteer acting group, bringing history, crime and punishment to life through immersive performances, theatrical productions and live public events.

Working within the museum’s unique historic setting, they create and deliver performances inspired by the building’s past as a working police station between 1874 and 1974. Using the preserved cells, courtroom and spaces beneath Bradford City Hall, The Museum Players help audiences step into stories connected to policing, justice, crime, punishment and the people who once passed through these walls.
The group writes, develops and performs a range of productions, from factual recreations and immersive experiences to fictionalised stories rooted in the museum’s historic spaces. Their work includes the museum’s popular Trial by Jury events, as well as atmospheric Ghost Tours where actors bring witness statements, local legends and stories of former occupants to life.
The Museum Players are a dedicated, passionate and creative team who generously give their time and energy to support the museum’s public programme. As a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation, all proceeds from these events help support the running of the museum and the care of our unique collection.
The Museum Players are always looking for new members to join the group and help develop new and existing productions. Whether you have acting experience or simply an interest in performance, storytelling or local history, they would love to hear from you.
