About the event

Interested in volunteering with the Bradford Police Museum? Join us for our Volunteer Open Day on Saturday 28th March, from 10:00 to 11:30 and discover how you can get involved.

During the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the museum, chat with our current volunteers, and speak with our Volunteer Managers and Museum Director about the roles available and what volunteering with us looks like in practice.

To view full details of all our current volunteering opportunities, please visit our Opportunities webpage.

Whether you’re interested in welcoming visitors, leading tours, supporting research, learning activities, or social media, this open day is a great chance to find out more and ask any questions you may have. We’d love to welcome you!

The event is free to attend, but we kindly ask that you register in advance so we know how many people to expect. Once registered, you’ll receive a follow-up email with further information ahead of the day.

About The Bradford Police Museum

The Bradford Police Museum is an independent, volunteer-run museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of policing in Bradford and the surrounding area. Housed within the former Victorian police cells and courtroom at City Hall, the museum offers guided tours, exhibitions, and events that explore crime, justice, and social history.

The museum is open to the public every Saturday from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Alongside public opening hours, we deliver an active educational programme, offering private school visits throughout the week, as well as tailored visits for youth groups and private groups. The museum is supported by a dedicated Volunteer Curatorial Team, who care for the collection and work on research and conservation projects year-round, meeting every Wednesday at the museum. We are also proud to work with a fantastic group of volunteer actors, who bring history to life through special events, including our popular Trial by Jury performances.
