About the event

Will justice be served? Only you can decide.

Join The Bradford Police Museum for The Green Dress, a gripping immersive Trial by Jury set in Bradford in 1956, where gossip travels fast and reputations are everything.

When a woman is found stabbed to death in her bedroom, suspicion quickly falls on her husband. As the trial unfolds, secrets, jealousies, and half-truths are laid bare. But was this a calculated murder - or a tragic accident clouded by guilt and misunderstanding?

You can take part as a jury member, seated in a real courtroom, hearing testimony and weighing the evidence before delivering your verdict - or attend as a court spectator, watching the drama unfold as the trial reaches its tense conclusion. Spectators are still part of the experience and will be invited to cast their verdict on the fate of the accused.

What to Expect

The Green Dress is a live, immersive courtroom drama inspired by real mid-20th-century criminal cases. Set in a historic courtroom, the museum’s volunteer actors recreate a tense murder trial, guiding you through witness testimony, legal arguments, and conflicting accounts of the truth.

Doors open at 1:15pm. The performance runs as a continuous experience lasting approximately 90 minutes. Please arrive by 1:45pm for a prompt 2pm start. Late entry will not be permitted.

This event contains mature themes, strong language, and references to sexual content. We recommend ages 12+ for Court Spectators and 16+ for Jury Members.

Before You Visit

Please note that the courtroom is located within a historic building and is not wheelchair accessible. There are no toilet facilities within the museum, so we recommend using the public toilets in City Park before your visit. As this is a real historic courtroom, it can feel quite drafty, particularly in colder weather, so we suggest dressing warmly. Our museum volunteers will be on hand throughout your visit and are always happy to help with any questions.
