About the event
Join The Bradford Police Museum on Saturday 13th September for a special day of free tours and a vintage police vehicle display, celebrating Bradford’s rich policing heritage as part of the national Heritage Open Days.
Step outside City Hall to see our impressive collection of historic police vehicles, including vintage patrol cars and motorcycles, along with our Victorian Police Prision Carriage, giving a fascinating glimpse into how policing on the streets has changed through the decades. As part of the event, we will be bringing:
Norton Interpol 2 (1983) – a rare rotary engine police motorcycle
Ford Consul MKII (1960) – a classic example of British motoring
Austin Metro MKI (1980) – one of the most recognisable police cars of its time
Victorian Police Prison Carriage – a rare and atmospheric glimpse into 19th-century law enforcement transport
Free Museum Tours – Book Online to Secure Your Place
For this special event, the Museum will be running for free guided tours, offering visitors the chance to explore the original Victorian courtroom, old police cells, and historic exhibits. Tours will run every hour from 10:30am, with five tours throughout the day.
Tour times: 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm
Tickets are free, but advance online booking is recommended to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited.
This is a fantastic opportunity for families, history enthusiasts, and curious visitors of all ages to experience Bradford’s policing past - both inside the museum and outside with our iconic vehicle display!
