Volunteer Agreement

Once you have completed this form, a PDF version will be sent to you and an additional signed copy of this will be retained by the museum.

 

We would like to thank you for volunteering with us and we will do the best we can to make your volunteer experience with us enjoyable and rewarding.  This agreement tells you what you can expect from us and what we hope to receive from you.  We aim to be flexible, so please let us know if you would like to make any changes and we will do our best to do so.

 

This role is designed to ensure that museum visitors have a positive experience. It enables Bradford Police Museum’s work to provide an educational and entertaining visit.

Part 1: The Volunteer

I will agree endeavour to:

 

  • To assist in the day-to-day running of the Bradford Police Museum.

  • To carry out my volunteering role to the best of my ability.

  • To follow policies, procedures, and standards, including Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities, in relation to staff, volunteers and visitors.

  • To attend the museum at the time and date previously agreed by the volunteer to meet any time commitments and standards agreed to, and to give reasonable notice so other arrangements can be made when this is not possible.

  • Meet the Museum Customer Service standards.

  • If your role requires you to do so, to issue tickets and provide advice, information, and support to visitors in the gallery area.

Part 2:  Bradford Police Museum

We will do our best to:

 

  • To introduce you to how our organisation works and your role in it and to provide any training you might need to carry out your role effectively and safely. 

  • To respect your skills, dignity, and individual wishes and to do our best to meet them.

  • To pay your travel expenses according to the rates set out on the claim form against receipt.

  • To consult with you and to keep you informed of any possible changes.

  • To provide appropriate insurance cover for your agreed volunteering activity.

  • To provide a safe volunteering environment.

This agreement is binding in honour only, it is not intended to be a legally binding contract between us, and it may be cancelled at any time at the discretion of either party.  Neither party intends any employment relationship created either now, or at any time in the future.

Termination of Agreement

Either party may give notice to terminate the above arrangements.  However, it is hoped that, except in unusual situations or breach of discipline, it would be possible for both parties to give at least one week’s notice.

Part 3: GDPR

I agree to The Bradford Police Museum collecting and storing the following personal data, my name, address, contact details, email address and clothing sizes.

 

I agree to this data being used during museum business.

 

I agree with the museum passing this information to our museum partners and third parties ONLY for the bona fide purposes of genuine museum business, including:


  • Museum management

  • Training provided by third parties.

  • Museum business including Group Tours, events etc.

  • Attendance at conferences
