Visitor Engagement Officer Volunteer
Bradford Police Museum is looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and passionate individuals to join our team as Volunteer Visitor Engagement Officers (VEO) in celebration of Bradford's City of Culture 2025.
As a VEO, you will be the welcoming face of the museum, dressed in period-appropriate Victorian attire. This unique role involves interacting with the public, promoting the museum's fascinating exhibits, and encouraging visitors to explore Bradford's rich history.
During Bradford's City of Culture year, Centenary Square will be bustling with events and increased footfall, providing an exciting opportunity for VEOs to engage with a diverse audience and share the museum's offerings.

Responsibilities:

Greet and engage with visitors outside the museum, inviting them to explore its unique exhibits.

Wear provided Victorian attire and serve as a living history representative.

Inform visitors about upcoming events, activities, and historical highlights.

Contribute to a memorable, immersive experience for guests of all ages.
Ideal candidates will:

Enjoy interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Be comfortable wearing period costumes and engaging in roleplay.

Be passionate about Bradford's history and eager to share their enthusiasm with others.
Time Commitment
​
Volunteers must be available to work a minimum of 4 hours per week during museum opening hours. This is an unpaid position; however, successful applicants will gain valuable experience in public speaking, customer service, and marketing while contributing to the preservation of Bradford's history during this exciting cultural event.

Training & Support
​
All museum volunteers receive a museum orientation and overview of their role when they start volunteering with us. A full induction is provided upon completion of a mutually agreed trial period. Ongoing, role specific training is provided in-house. There are occasional additional opportunities to attend training provided by third parties, where required.
